The Simca Aronde (swallow in old French and in Walloon!) Was built from 1951 to 1963. In 1956, a record year, it was the best-selling car in France. It was also the first car with a monocoque body, and also the first to offer a design different from that of the Fiat 1400. Indeed, since the Second World War, Simca built cars under Fiat license. L'Aronde is therefore the very first Simca. the first series, called Simca 9, was manufactured from 1951 to 1956. The second series, Aronde 1300, from 1956 to 1958. Finally, the Aronde P60, from 1958 to 1963. Note that the Aronde were imported to the United States from 1953 to 1962. It was replaced in 1963 by the Simca 1300. As for the Weekend convertible, it was assembled, as well as the "De Ville" coupe in the Facel-Métallon workshops, the very ones that produced the legendary Facel Vega after the workshops were separated into Facel S.A. and Métallon S.A.
