Some classics captivate through their beauty, others through their character. This Jaguar E-Type 6.0 TWR 5-speed Manual combines both and adds a particularly interesting chapter: a special conversion by Tom Walkinshaw Racing, documented in the accompanying invoice file.

Beneath the seemingly endless bonnet sits an imposing 6.0-litre V12, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. With the roof down, twelve cylinders ahead and full control over every gear change, this E-Type delivers exactly the kind of driving experience for which classic sports cars were created.

Tom Walkinshaw Racing, better known as TWR, became one of the best-known names in British motorsport and developed a close association with Jaguar’s international racing successes. The documented TWR conversion therefore gives this example an additional dimension and forms a distinctive part of its history.

This example was first registered on 15 September 1974. According to the historical file, it is one of the final 250 E-Types produced. The car also comes with an extensively documented ownership, TWR conversion and restoration history.

The car was originally supplied to US specification and shipped new to the United States, where it was delivered through Dave Heinz Imports in Tampa, Florida. It returned to the United Kingdom in 1990. An extensive professional restoration followed in 1990–1991, during which the car was dismantled and work was carried out on the body, chassis, brakes, suspension and various mechanical components. During this restoration, it was repainted in Old English White and converted from US to British specification.

In 2010, the Jaguar was acquired by British specialist Graeme Hunt. During this period, a 5-speed manual transmission was fitted and work was carried out on the shock absorbers, springs, bushes, carpets and leather. A Becker Cascade audio system was also installed. The extensive documentation includes photographs, invoices and information covering the car’s ownership and restoration history.

Today, this Jaguar E-Type 6.0 TWR 5-speed Manual presents as an older professionally restored classic with visible signs of use. The white bodywork emphasises the E-Type’s long, low silhouette, while the restored interior and good soft top complete the overall presentation.

Technically, the V12 runs well, although further adjustment is recommended. The clutch and 5-speed manual transmission work well. The brakes function properly, with a slight vibration under braking. The axles and suspension also function well.

Our Oldtimerfarm inspection team has prepared an expert report for this car.
